Animation: The Little King in On The Pan 1933

Little King On The Pan

The early sound cartoons that came out of New York have an indescribable quality that is sorely missing from animation today. The best way I can describe it is "cartoon candy". New York cartoons are gritty, unpredictable and outrageous with jazzy music forming the foundation for the action. There are no pretentions to be anything other than seven minutes of cartoony joy. This cartoon is no exception…

This cartoon was given to Animation Resources by Steve Stanchfield of Thunderbean Animation. Steve has been collecting, restoring and releasing incredibly rare animation on DVD. The discs are packed with great cartoons you can’t find anywhere else, and have supplemental material that you can easily spend hours browsing. I highly recommend them.
