Earlier, we featured Mary Blair’s Golden Book "Little Verses". Today, we feature her long out-of-print book, "Baby’s House".
Many thanks to my friend Mike Fontanelli for sharing this with us.

Disney rightly championed her genius for design, color and innovation. According to Canemaker, some of Mary’s fellow animators were less enchanted with her work than the boss was. Seems through her work she gained some relief from the daily demons roaming around her interior landscape. Blair is absolutely one of my favorite illustrators of that era or any era for that matter.
I’ve been a long-time fan of Blair. It seems any time I need a little pick-me-up, I encounter a super blog post like this one. Thank you for acknowledging her wonderful, whimsical style.
